Sour Cream Sugar Cookies

1 cup soft butter
2 cups granulated sugar
3 XL eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ½ cups sour cream
5 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt

Cream butter and sugar with an electric mixer on medium high for 1 minute or until fluffy. Hand stir in eggs, vanilla and sour cream.  Don’t overmix. Add dry ingredients all at once and mix until fully incorporated. Add 5+ Tablespoons more flour for high elevation. Refrigerate dough for 3 hours. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out 3/16 inches thick and cut into desired shapes. Bake at 350 degrees for 10+ minutes depending on size. Cool. Frost. Let set. Share!

Cream Cheese Frosting
8 ounces softened cream cheese
½ cup soft butter
1 Tablespoon vanilla
4 cups powdered sugar

Mix cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add vanilla and powdered sugar. Mix until fluffy.
